Landing physics/ sound and spoilers.

Hey Bravoairspace I appreciate you all for the work you put in on all the updates up to 1.8.5.

I have to say though even though this is a spectacular project, best 787 made. I do believe that the BA787 does not have the best of landing physics nor good spoiler movement and deployment when flying as well as landing. It’s definitely better than the Asobo version no doubt but I’m sure you already addressed the issue with the wheels hitting the ground evenly and realistically with the new model you plan for update 2.

I do have to add three things.
1st. The spoilers when landing do not deploy like the actual b787. I will leave a video as an example of both the flight sim and real life look.

2nd. The aileron move way to quickly when the plane is moving especially during the flight control check it just kills the look when it is not smooth.

3rd. Finally when the plane touches done the reverse thrust sound transition is too quick from no reverse thrust to fully deploying the reversers. It’s not natural and smooth. I posted a video on that as well.

Finally just as an addition for perfection of this project when the spoilers deploy in the air for drag to slow down the plane it doesn’t have a smooth transition deploying them and retracting them it’s a bit off.

Here’s a better example i believe of the spoiler release.

Here’s some videos i recorded of the show bravoairspace 787 landing from my set up to explain some of the flaws.

    Overactive alerion in the air.
I didn’t have a video of the ground flight control check but this can do.

    The BA787 landing.
It’s very hard to make smooth landing because of the wheel physics but this worked.

Reverse thruster sound that comes out too fast and does not have that smooth transition.

but overall if these could be fixed with the way the landing wheels touch the runway then this is a perfect 787.
Once again I appreciate you all for all your efforts. These are all just suggestions for more enjoyment.
Respectfully the best active group I have ever seen in the sim. Thank you!

    1. These are all great pointers.
The sounds are the trickiest because the person who makes them is usually hard to reach.

By any chance are you a real airliner pilot?

What's happening with the BA788 is that we were using deprecated animations. So, we need to revise them. Please give me several weeks to revise everything.
I will return to this post.
The spoiler sequence was done using the real 787 spoiler deployment video. Your video showcases a different sequence. I will gather 10 videos and see which sequence is more popular.

        regarding smooth landing:
If you look at many YouTubers and our Twitch streams, this plane is very easy to land smoothly. Smooth landings are not always guaranteed in real life, which should reflect on this aircraft as well. Weather, pilot, and weight are the mathematical formulas for a successful landing.
I can go on twitch now and land smoothly, guaranteed.

The quickness of the flight control movements is a two-way factor. One, we can slow it down, and two, the user's controller sensitivity. When the user turns the controls to the extreme side, there's a dive in the animations, which is connected to the controller at hand. This makes the flight control check look silly. BUT we can fix this with new animation control.

I understand and I appreciate all the efforts with the deprecated animations. In terms of the landing, its more about the way the wheels touch the ground and the physics of the wheels, I can try showing a video from the outside; its definitely an issue raised before, but I by no means necessary I do not think it is very difficult to land this plane smoothly; it does float pretty well when using the controls; its just the way the wheels touch the runway. I do believe though the alerions move too quickly compared to other Boeing aircrafts I fly in the sim but I will definitely check my control sensitivity.

To answer your other question, I am not an airline pilot although I do wish I was, maybe someday. I am currently a medical school student that just loves simming with airliners.

            1. Medical students, that's even more welcoming.

So, deprecated animations MUST be updated. I need some weeks to revise them.
The wheels hovering at landing is an issue I can access now, and I know precisely the problem.

I think the animation codes must be updated to cover most of the issues you've presented.
So, basically, I know what to do, but at the moment, I'm the only lead in the company, and so I have to oversee and delegate many tasks. Soon, I will be clean from the current one and jump to another project, but I can work with those codes at a better pace.
