Some observations on flight performance
Hello team, first of all, congratulations on the release of 787-9! I am a PC user and I started owning both 787-8 and 787-9 a couple of days ago. I like both aircrafts very much and really appreciate your team in putting the efforts to make the aircrafts as realistic as possible.
Visually I noticed a few issues when flying both aircrafts and I am not sure if they have been raised / answered before, and if these are on the part of Asobo/ WT instead: -
1/ When on AP, tracking LNAV and making turns, sometimes the plane will overdo and then correct itself, for a few times. Generally it is still able to track the LNAV but just the plane doesn't make then turn smoothly
2/ Sometimes the warning "bank angle" would be triggered when making turns. It is not necessarily triggered on the most acute turns - I think it's related to #1 as even when the turn isn't most acute the alarm may be triggered when the aircraft first overdoes the turn before correcting itself.
3/ The climb performance does not resemble the Simbrief closely - generally the aircraft climbs too slowly compared to Simbrief's output
Furthermore and separately, for the EFB, with the makeshift BA EFB implemented, how can user calculate takeoff performance as the default EFB is overridden? Is there a way to switch back/ forth the default and BA EFB?
Many thanks and I do hope the above help your team in further refining the brilliant products!
Francis @LeadDeveloper2024-12-23 16:03:33.427ZHi Frankie,
Thank you for the compliments. Specially someone on PC.
For take off calculations,
You have three options.- The regular method via the TAKEOFF REF
- Is by using TAKEOFF REF page2 and inserting the wind speed and direction
- Is by obtaining the TAKE OFF REF from simbrief.
The Boeing EFB will return we are currently working on it.
As for the slow turning, the plane seems to bank very slow and late this is why is struggling to stay in-line. This is my next task to fix.
It also overbanks which I will also have to revise the banking speed.Regarding climb performance, I would have to see your entire flight from pushback to cruise level. I'm not entirely sure of what you did but if you share your simbrief ID I can recreate the flight until cruise and see it myself.
Because 4 elements to work in conjunction is very difficult to obtain. (1.user, 2.simbrief 3. weather 4.aircraft config)
Simbrief is far from perfect. It has to be constantly reviewed and revised.
I say this out of personal experience specially when on Vatsim.STAY in touch, let's keep this plane in check.

Thanks a lot for your help Francis! I have shared my simbrief ID with you by private message =]
