Update 5 Deployment Notice

Hi,
The engine condensation and flap vortices have been removed temperately on the 787-8. This is due to the fact that most people are now using it in MSFS 2024.
And in MSFS 2024 these effects aren't working correctly. The person who did these effects more than a year ago has not been available.
I can restore the engine effects and anything that might look OKAY. But finding someone to remake this job has been complicated. But it does not mean I'm going to halt the remake.

I tone down the windshield weathering. Can I see a screenshot from your end?

The head-down camera angle is extremely hard to recreate. I had one guy in our test team with this issue, but then he fixed it by reinstalling the sim. I have not received any request for support on this matter.💖

The 787 9 heavy frames are another procedure that I will not allow to happen with any future aircraft. All planes MUST be fully optimized from this point on before they are released! The 787 family is getting LOD's to decrease the memory use. Optimized accordingly. It will also have a lighter version, which will not feature a cabin and utilize lower-resolution textures.

Yes, there has been ongoing issues with cabin lightings and EFB control. This has been revised and we can now control the lighting. This will come in update 5.

Francis is pushing to upload the update this month. He had to work on a small update for the Dreamliners as well. And he's overseeing other work as well.

Hi, I’m having issues with the 787’s throttle, I’m on Su4 Beta and the throttle just does not move, visually or literally, not sure if it’s an issue on your side or MS, will do some testing and let you know.

I'm very sorry for the delays.
The reason I'm going to release 4.9 is so I can quickly release 5.0.
Many people have been waiting for anything from 4.9 as well.

The sooner we release 5.0 the better for us because we also have more things on our road map that need attention.
At the moment I'm the only person who can assemble new assets. The doors are always welcomed for people who are willing to do the job but hiring trusted individuals takes a long time.

Update 5 was meant for last year. Many events have piled On that have blocked me from completing the final product.
Right now we here at BA want to simply complete these Dreamliners as described to you guys. No doubt.
And after update 5 we won't be announcing any updates because anticipating and necessity runs high. And so we will just release by surprise from that point on.

The new Boeing EFB will provide what you need and a bit more. It can be released today but each variant will need deeper optimizations and the non-leaking lights to be included otherwise it will be another empty promised EFB. Working with locked-premium deluxe mods from 2020 is not a walk in the park. I love our Dreamliners and improvement is always welcome. But there's always unpredictable setbacks.

I wish to complete these tasks ASAP but there's many variables and elements that have to be exported and review in the game to make sure it all works correctly.
My mistake was to announce so many updates but at the same time it's important to keep pushing ourselves to be at least close to the finest releases. But replicating the aircraft exactly like the real one, at least visually is enough drive for us to stay motivated.

The 787-8 was given a smoothed fixed around the windshield which looks like a dark triangle in MSFS 2024.
Any airplane with heavy texturing on fuselage 1 will need a retouch.
The 787-9 will not need any retouch but both variants have new updated seats which fabrics will need to be updated by livery painters.

We understand your frustrations. But we are STILL working on 4.9. It's a complex job. I believe @LeadDeveloper is uploading update 4.8.9 tomorrow to address some minor issues that don't need an entire model update. It will address the NAV lights FPS issue, 787-9 Weight and Balance incorrect data and other things that will be mentioned.

And yes, we would have preferred to work on a clean-sheet product, but this is what we've started with.

I think Francis mentioned that Update 5 has seen the light at the end of the tunne. But PLEASE understand that there's been some roadblocks. And we are getting out of them.

I would have to disagree about the no-communication. We are here to talk to you guys either via forum, social media and email. But when people ask when is the update coming out, as project manager I just don't have an answer.

Why insist building an add-on based on a default aircraft? Well, it was a simpler way to start something cool. I love the 787-8 I guess it's because it's a bit short and resembles the 767 a bit. And the assets were there for us to experiment with.
After it's release I didn't expect people would demand so much from us. And so we've worked so much in silence redoing so many elements. We've invested money and time working with other developers to improve this plane. Modeling, sounds, light system changes, EFBv1/EFBv2(Boeing).

To me, my biggest regret has been not releasing Update 5 back in 2025. But the workload to re-do and re-introduce new art and effects in the midst's of working with other personal projects that do not rely on default-aircraft has made it difficult to release a worth it update-5.

Regarding no communication regarding update 5 is basically due to everything I've mentioned above. I'm desperate to complete it. The sooner I finish the better for all of us. BUT, I'm not going to release something cheap and lacking, rushed and recycled. We basically model everything on our own. Except for some Asobo passenger seats that Microsoft has grant us permission to include in our package as they normally do not permit to use any of their assets. We made our own last year but 787 Asobo seats are much more optimized.

On top of all of that these planes are huge we have to cover large amount of areas making sure nothing is broken and does it resemble the current state of the real aircraft. New animations have been introduced. Tested, researched, redone, and the cycle repeats itself. I want to walk away from these planes (before going 2024-native) looking above average and a mirror to the real aircraft.

If I can upload the update today I would. Better for me so I can focus on more progress. Honestly, once 4.9 is out it will take me a month to return to finish 5.0 where I have to adjust interior lighting.

When will I upload 4.9? This month. I don't know the exact date but I've been working with a partner to perform the correct art work and modeling and at the same time improve performance when utilizing the aircraft.

When U5? months before summer of this year 2026. Is it real this time? Yes. It's necessary. Our company needs it to be.
If it doesn't happen by then unfortunately something bad happen to me in my personal life. But we keep it simple in this family so we'll be fine.

by the time this is done the b787 already be retired.

OH yes, I saw this.
You'll have a lot of time with Update 5 of the BA's 787s and the 2024-native's before these people release their plane.

The only reason we weren't able to do a full standalone high-fidelity 787 from the beginning is that this company doesn't have the monetary funds to do it.
This is why it resorted on a mod. Anything Dreamliner at the moment will remain a mod. And we also like to please everyone not just a specific type of group.

Maybe you stop complaining and buy from the developers you don't have problems with?

The 787-8 update will be first. Just so one variant can be released.
