Update 5 Deployment Notice

By Francis @LeadDeveloper2025-09-28 14:45:42.133Z2025-09-30 13:44:36.296Z

A partial rollout of Update 5 is now underway. This includes:

  • New artwork
  • Sound updates

Working Title systems updated to latest version
Please note: All EFB-related functionalities depend on the new aircraft model, which is not yet available. These features rely on:

  • New 3D objects
  • Ground service objects
  • Door control systems
  • Lighting control systems
The EFB will be capable of toggling multiple 3D artifacts, and its full functionality will only be available once the updated model is released as part of the complete Update 5 package.
This phased approach allows integration of non-model-dependent assets while maintaining system compatibility.

Francis I need to chat with about the 787. I sent you a message a few weeks ago. I just recently purchased the 787-9. It’s very heavy on the frame rates just like the-8. The heads down camera angle stills irks the heck out of me, what happened to the wing and engine condensation and flap vortices? They were present a few weeks ago on the-8, windows are still to dirty. I appreciate all your efforts and work.

      1. Hi,
The engine condensation and flap vortices have been removed temperately on the 787-8. This is due to the fact that most people are now using it in MSFS 2024.
And in MSFS 2024 these effects aren't working correctly. The person who did these effects more than a year ago has not been available.
I can restore the engine effects and anything that might look OKAY. But finding someone to remake this job has been complicated. But it does not mean I'm going to halt the remake.

I tone down the windshield weathering. Can I see a screenshot from your end?

The head-down camera angle is extremely hard to recreate. I had one guy in our test team with this issue, but then he fixed it by reinstalling the sim. I have not received any request for support on this matter.💖

The 787 9 heavy frames are another procedure that I will not allow to happen with any future aircraft. All planes MUST be fully optimized from this point on before they are released! The 787 family is getting LOD's to decrease the memory use. Optimized accordingly. It will also have a lighter version, which will not feature a cabin and utilize lower-resolution textures.

The pictures for the cockpit screenshot are to large it says. The pics are 1.17 mb and the system only allows 1.0 mb uploads. https://youtube.com/shorts/9kFFmyOzNX0?si=ZNvw5JcVmu8HzeWd

See what he thinks about the sounds of these GE engines

            1. Hi, just saw the video clip.

It looks like you haven't updated your aircraft. The BAW livery at this moment has pink textures outside. (An update im uploading this week).

Regarding the sounds, I heard it. I did a test myself. I couldn't hear it either. I will talk to the sound guy about it.

              Thank you.

My apologies Francis. The clip was to show how good the engine sounds are! I absolutely love the sounds. It was in reference to a guy on YouTube complaining about the sounds. But I’m on Xbox. I don’t see any pink textures when using the aircraft.

                  1. Interesting regarding the pink textures.

Yes, I saw that video of a guy saying he hated the sounds. I guess you can't please everyone. It's impossible.
But 99% of the users love the sounds. The new sounds have cabin passenger ambience; the cockpit has great ambient sounds. The flap sound is fixed for 2024 users and we have center line bump and rattling sounds while taxiing and taking off. But he's going to hate it even more since it's going to be more awesome! 🤭

But I do think that the plane should be louder if you are seeing it land on an exterior view.

Is there ongoing issues with the cabin lighting? EFB doesn’t seem to have any effect.

Yes, there has been ongoing issues with cabin lightings and EFB control. This has been revised and we can now control the lighting. This will come in update 5.
                  Apologies.

Francis is pushing to upload the update this month. He had to work on a small update for the Dreamliners as well. And he's overseeing other work as well.
