Why is update 4 taking so long?

I bought this plane like 8 months ago, and for most of the time I've had it, I've been waiting for update 4, its annoying that when I open the front door the back one does too, most aren't functional, and the efb is very incomplete, honestly, its a bit frustrating to be on the wait for so long.

          Hi, @TineX_S

It's frustrating for me to keep you guys waiting for so long.
I'm honestly very disappointed with all the delays. These delays are not intentional. I can guarantee you this.
It's been a matter of wrestling with time. There have been months when we were able to build and assemble, and other weeks when I have to focus on other add-ons.

I added too many elements to the EFB, which has a labor-intensive nature with 3d objects and texturing. Just recently, I reconnected with a system developer regarding the EFB, and more features were added.

The current EFB (BAEFBv1) was developed by someone else who worked with me at the beginning of the Dreamliner work, and since then, that person has gone on to other ventures.
Lighting and door control, unfortunately, were never implemented because he was not part of the workspace.

So this entire year, I've sought out and hired trusted modelers and helpers I can train with and exchange knowledge with. So I can dominate other aspects of the job, like animation (doors, etc) and making minor, simple system updates to the WT Collins and the BAEFB. With the interest of not relying on hired help and being able to implement and create features on the current systems.

Also, in the midst of things, the Dreamliner was updated to look realistic and refined. And to fund these tasks, we had to create add-ons that people would be interested in. Which cost me more time away from updating the Dreamliners.

I know it's frustrating. And I do apologize. I struggled to implement the correct lighting for the interior. Since it's a mod of an aircraft, we do not have permission to utilize encrypted interior files, which can help reduce the workload. But this has been solved.

There is one update I'm assembling for both Dreamliners. I'm hoping to upload this month as it's meant to get closer to Update 4.
The -8 (my personal favorite) will feature more liveries and newer elements, refining the aircraft's aesthetics.

I know for a fact, it's going to be great when you guys receive the update I've mentioned a long time ago.

          Once again, my apologies.

Thanks for taking the time to a answer Francis, I think I speak for the entire community when I say we can't wait for these updates to release, this often leads us to get frustrated after being in the dark for months, but you guys are also humans, and we have to be a bit considerate of your time, best of lucks figuring everything out, and I can't wait to fly the 787-8 again!

Hey, Francis. I have a few questions. I own both Dreamliners (the 788 is my favorite as well) and really enjoy flying them.

                  1. I understand all the points you've just described, but do we have any time frame for the updated EFB?

                  2. Will this update correct the red lights on the exterior model blinking white in the nav and beacon lights?

                  3. I’ve also noticed that both variants aren't producing contrails. Is there a fix for this?

                  4. Lastly, I’m seeing some weird texture issues on the landing gear door of the B788 (I noticed it on the LATAM livery). Is this a known issue?

                  Thanks for your time!

                  1. Hi,

A person sent me a message via facebook about this. I did a test run and I had contrails above FL330.

EFB time frame, I won't be giving more guessing / predictions. These types of answers always get's us in bad terms with some of you guys. The risk is on what if I don't deliver on time once again? An answer to this is ASAP. Because this will grant me the chance to focus on other aircraft projects working in the background and moving the Dreamliners onto 2024 natively, granting me even more time and full focus on future planes.

There's some red light penetrating inside the fuselage I've notice that in 2024. I can easily fix this.

Can you please show me the weird landing gear door texture?

one important question, has the animation of the wheels when they first touch the runway during landing also been improved?

                    1. This one is crucial. I believe I'm going to work on it on Monday and put an end to it.
It's going to cost some flight model changes. But this has been pending for far too long.
