spoiler deflection with flaps

Title states itself. In the real 787, the spoilers deflect downwards with the flaps for aerodynamic reasons; whereas at the moment at full flaps there is a gap. I have a video I recorded personally which demonstrates this fact. Cheers.

        Hi!

We have this on our list. We see a potential fix (codes,) but right now I think we want to wrap up the new interior and exterior visuals.
But I think @LeadDeveloper will be able to add the fix in the coming months.

Thanks for taking it on-board, that's great.

Another thing to note, and I think this has been mentioned, but the flaperon should have way more deflection in it. it should also be able to line up with flaps 30, but there is a gap. Just a few small animation things to note. and if you guys have any questions, i have flow the 787 plenty of times in real life so let me know! I will attach a few photos since i cant upload photos of the fctl surfaces on a flaps 30 approach.

(The aforementioned spoiler deflection is very visible here, much smaller gap between flaps and spoilers)

I'm very pleased to see the ground spoiler aileron/flaperon deflection recreated, a feature missed by other simulations too, however they can deflect much more!

                1. Hi,

This is my goal to make this happen.
Somewhere down the line after it's release the flaperons aren't aligning with the full flaps setting. I can't recall when it was updated and removed but they used to align.
I will do my best to return this back to it's normal behavior and attempt to add the additional behaviors.

amazing. if you want any pictures I have loads. another thing to note is the max and minimum deflection on the flaperons is way too small. also, when hydraulic pressure is lost, they drool to the max downward deflection, but I think it looks like it doesn't because the max downward deflection is too small. the max downward deflection is 30° like the flaps, and idk about up but it's definitely more than shown. ground spoiler logic is spot on, but they deflect up more.

if you would like any photos from the cabin showing all the deflections I have them all for you! just say the word and I'll ping them over.

also, any idea when I can expect to see this?

                      1. I've been looking at this issue for quiet a while now but I think I can handle a fix. The flaperon themselves can go full 30 degrees but not when the hydraulics are off at the moment like you explained.

I think I can fix it. It's on my to-do list and I'm hoping to add it for the next update.

Hey, don't know if this is your department, but the hydraulic pump audio is a little bugged. It's very nice to see it modelled, however it is slightly incorrect. The central hydraulic pumps are the source of the distinctive "whine". Wondered if you could fix that. (They also have two speeds, low and high, high making that "whine" noise and low is alot quieter and lower frequency.

                            1. Hi,

We have a team member that goes by the name of SuperSonic who handles our sound jobs.
I'm going to copy and paste this to him. See what he can do.
But we'll have to double check ourselves if what you say is correct, unless you have personal recordings.

i don't have any proof other than my word; I've spoken to many 787 pilots because I fly it so often

                                  1. The sound job that touches the hydraulic pump sounds was done by FTSIM and he's tough to reach out to.

Let's leave it on the to-do list and see if i get lucky and get it fixed in the upcoming months.
