Best traffic & parked aircraft setup for Xbox Series X?

    Hi Francis, hi guys!

    I’m writing to ask for your technical advice on the best settings for Xbox Series X when running the ATG Traffic Pack, especially when flying complex add-ons like the iniBuilds aircraft’s .

    I’ve been testing several configurations over long-haul and short-haul flights to find the perfect sweet spot between VRAM/RAM optimization, frame stability, and livery accuracy. However, I’d love to get your expert perspective on a few key points:

    1. Default Parked Aircraft vs. Third-Party Static Packs (e.g., LVFR 2024):

    I tried running Parked Aircraft: OFF alongside the LVFR Static Aircraft Pack + ATG Pack (Real Live Traffic). While it looks visually accurate, my understanding is that LVFR models (even with proximity LOD rendering) still put a heavy strain on Xbox VRAM during short final/landing compared to Asobo’s native low-poly models.
    Is it true from a developer standpoint that Asobo default parked models are significantly lighter on system RAM/VRAM despite ATG painting liveries on top of them?

    2. Parked Aircraft Quantity (Medium vs. Low):

    If I use the native MSFS traffic settings (Parked Aircraft: LOW or MEDIUM) with ATG, how does reducing the slider from Medium to Low affect livery matching? I mean, does setting Parked Aircraft to LOW increase the risk of getting random/incorrect regional liveries at specific European or American hubs, or does ATG still manage to prioritize geographically correct airlines regardless of the density setting?

        Hello,

        You are correct — the Asobo aircraft models are significantly lighter than the LVFR models. If you notice that LVFR parked aircraft do not change shape when you move away and then return, that indicates there are no LOD transitions occurring.
        Asobo models do change shape at distance because they were designed with lower‑resource LODs.

        At the moment, parked aircraft behavior with ATG is inconsistent, even on PC. It appears to be related to how the sim is handling game data.
        If you are on Xbox, we recommend using MEDIUM for parked aircraft density. We have not yet confirmed whether LOW or MEDIUM produces different results, but resetting the parked aircraft setting is advised to ensure correct airline assignments. When a flight loads, the sim tends to rapidly populate gates with random aircraft.

        We have investigated potential control of parked aircraft using Asobo models through ATG. We can implement an approach similar to LVFR’s, but it would need to be developed as a separate side product — so it’s unclear whether Francis will pursue it.
