PRE-PURCHASE DOUBTS
Hello Francis and the Bravo Airspace team,
I am considering purchasing your Boeing 787 (-8 or -9) for Xbox Series X, but before buying, I wanted to clear up a few questions based on previous issues I experienced with the default Asobo 787-10.
1. Performance at Heavy Add-on Airports & Cabin Options
I plan to perform long-haul flights into detailed third-party add-on airports. I know your versions are optimized compared to the default -10. Does using the "no-cabin" / optimized version provide a noticeable performance boost in terms of frame rates and stability on Xbox Series X?
2. Fuel Burn at SimRate 2x
For long-haul operations, I frequently use time acceleration (SimRate 2x). Does the aircraft's fuel consumption dynamically scale with SimRate 2x to ensure accurate, realistic fuel burn calculations over long distances?
3. Pitch Up After Takeoff & Trim Behavior
With the default Asobo 787-10, I frequently encountered an aggressive, uncontrollable pitch-up tendency right after rotation, even when setting the calculated takeoff trim properly beforehand.
Has this abrupt pitching issue been mitigated in your flight model?
Is manual pitch trim adjustment still strictly required right after liftoff, or is the fly-by-wire trim law smoother to control manually?
Is the common "trick" of pre-selecting/engaging the autopilot logic before takeoff rotation effective or recommended in your version to smooth out initial pitch behavior?
4. Handling with Xbox Controller
Since I fly using a standard Xbox controller, hand-flying the default 787-10 felt erratic and twitchy during climbout. How does your flight model handle input sensitivities on an Xbox controller when flying manually during initial departure?
Thank you for your time guys!
Best regards,
Francesco
Francis @LeadDeveloper2026-08-23 21:37:43.993ZHi @Frans
Our 787 mods are mid-level products by choice.
BUT, it doesn't mean we aren't always working behind the scenes.Right now the performance is fine on XBOX S and X. (KJFK) (EGLL) But I'm unsure for long flights. (possible no memory decompress somewhere in the systems).
The 787-8 has no cabin options (OPTIMIZED VERSION with lower texture sizes)
The 787-9 will also have the OPTIMIZED VERSION as well.Fuel burn at simrate 2x hasn't been recorded. So I have no data about this nor anyone have given me data.
The pitch up after take off is the automatic trim the plane has. It needs thrust on CLIMB. But make sure to insert all weights and balance data. Take off speeds and restrictions.
I only fly it on XBOX controller. I don't have space for peripherals at the moment. And I've been told it has nice handling.
