B788/9 Update 5 inquiry

Hello everyone. I bought the B789 in July. I sent out an email for a livery recommendation upon purchasing the 787. Someone replied back and promised update 5 to be released by the end of July. I was really excited and was hopeful for it. Well, unfortunately it has been a whopping near 6 months and we really haven’t gotten anything. I get that this work is extensive but the least you can do is NOT tell us something is going to release when it does not.
Is anyone willing to give an estimate date of release? I dont want any staff to take this personal but this might be the most unreliable product for updates. You could tell me “We are not ready to release this. Give us at least a couple of months.” And i would understand your point. But it is pretty unfortunate that it is taking really long.
I still support all the workers and i seriously appreciate what they do for us, but unfortunately i will have to say this is not really 100% professional as a major developer for MSFS.
Also one thing i want to point out is that aileron deflection is absolutely insane. You could put minor input on speed brakes and the right side of spoilers come out regularly, but the left side is literally sky rocketing. Just a recommendation of future fixing.
    Thanks in advance

        Hi,

I agree with the fact that we were not able to release the update when we said we would. There's some human element behind it all. It's not as black and white as others online may think. And I think Francis who is the lead developer, mentioned that he has learned from his mistakes when it comes to announcing updates and releases.

We will not be doing this any longer. It's making us look poor and we do not wish to proceed down that path.

So, all I can say is that each month we will upload updates until we reach update-5 new EFB.
He (Francis) will be releasing an update by the end of January.

Regarding the spoilers, I believe he was on it back in December and was able to slow it down more. I checked it myself, and it seems to happen when the controls fall within the dead zone. I'm not sure if this fix is coming now or in February.

Nevertheless, once again, we've learned from our mistakes, and we will not be announcing unprepared updates. We don't wish to disappoint you guys any further.
        We apologize for this.

You have expectations and so did we.

We are open to all types of comments, and this should give us credit for taking responsibility for our work.

This sounds like BravoAirspace is abandoning the 787's as a whole, sadly.

            Is this true?

We are not abandoning the 787 family. We will be supporting it until Microsoft lets us. It can be many years down the line.

But the plan is to focus our resources on brand-new, standalone add-ons rather than spending significant time extending the Dreamliner family of systems, for example.
If we are going to spend time modding a product, it can only be the 787 family. But not deep enough to prevent us from actually developing our own custom work.

Sorry for being so vague, but at the moment, it's what I'm allowed to say publicly.

Ok, fair enough. Will it at least still see updates and fixes? What about moving it closer to 2024 native?

                    1. It will always have updates and fixes and will be 2024 native.

The reason we aren't advancing much on system work is that we are using that manpower on standalone planes. This is, unless my previous guy comes back, then I can assign him the 787 system upgrade job.

                      That's all!

Ok, fair enough. I'm probably just over-thinking it.

It will continue to receive updates and fixes, but Systems are "taking a back seat" in that it will remain a mid-range product? Not deep or "study level" like PMDG? I assume that's what some people were wanting and thus BA backing away some?

                          1. This is 100%. We'll upgrade when we get a window.

                                Awesome to hear!

Also, don't ever feel discouraged. Big names out there like CptKenobi and even CaptainCanada tout your 787 as the best one available.......and at the rate things are going, we won't see PMDG or Bluebird putting out theirs until MSFS 2028. 🤣

                                1. Or maybe we can compete with them at a high-fidelity level.
It's basically what we want. But it will require the correct team.
